Lupus

Hi,

Just wondering if there are any other nurses in this group who has Systemic Lupus?

Katheriner:rolleyes:

Hi everyone. I am a nursing student and was told I had lupus about 4 years ago, but every test after that has not shown up with the lupus. The rheumatologist told me that I have Collagen Vascular Disease. I've only had that one flare up which led me to get tested the first time, but I constantly am fatigued and have joint pain. Is it possible the lupus could have just disappeared? All of the reading that I have done on this is not too helpful, so if anyone has heard of this happening I would appreciate it greatly if you could respond back. Thanks!

I would go back and get a second opinion and request further testing be done, like an ANA, CRP, or sed rate and whatever tests they run for lupus. It is important to get the right diagnosis so you can get the very best treatment so that no damage is done to your organs. Fatigue and joint pain go along with many of these autoimmune diseases. I have never heard of Lupus or any other autoimmune disease just disappearing. It is important that you know what you have so it can be treated. Take care of yourself with good diet, excercise, and lots of rest. Keep me posted.

Thanks lorster. I guess I was just writing the fatigue off as not getting enough sleep so I have been ignoring the whole Collagen Vascular Disease diagnosis. I definitely have to go get the tests done again though. I'll be sure to keep you posted. Thanks again!
