LSUHSC vs. Nicholls State University

Published

Hey guys! So I received my acceptance letter to LSUHSC School of Nursing for the Spring 2016!! However, I also applied to Nicholls' nursing school, but I won't find out if I am accepted until December. (I'm going the traditional BSN route) Originally, I went to LSU in Baton Rouge and finished my pre-reqs within a year. I applied for LSUHSC for the Fall 2015, but did not get in. I then decided to transfer to Nicholls and take my pre-reqs there for Nicholls' nursing program. I decided it was better if I could apply to 2 nursing schools with the hope of at lease getting into one. With that being said, I have always wanted to go to LSUHSC, but I have fallen in love with Nicholls as well. I have also already taken Human Anatomy & Physiology I and II with the labs at Nicholls, but if I go to LSUHSC I will have to retake them because theirs is a little different since they have the cadaver lab. However, I do know it will only help me since I have already been introduced to the material. Does anyone have any opinions as to what nursing school I should go to IF I also get accepted to Nicholls? If I do plan to become a nurse practitioner later on, is LSUHSC the better option? If you're already in any of those programs, how do you like it so far? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!:)
