LSUHSC CARE Program Information

Hi. I am applying for entry to LSU's CARE program for my accelerated BSN degree in August 2008. I am just getting ready to send my application off, and was wondering if anyone here has done this program, or is currently enrolled in it.

Mainly, I'm curious about the admissions standards. I have always been a very good student, and maintained above a 3.5 in college. I also have an advanced professional degree in another field. I am hoping these things will make me an attractive candidate for the school. I am curious how competitve the program is, especially for someone who is not a Louisiana resident.

Also, I'm wondering what the program is like. I know that it's got to be pretty intense if it wraps up all the nursing education into 18 months. What is a typical schedule like? How many hours a day and things like that?

I'm really excited about this opportunity, and looking forward to reading any responses here. Also, if anyone is currently applying as well, I'd love to connect with you so we can bite our nails together.

Oh boy, here we go!

cpkrn you had mentioned that when we get the letter we have a short period of time to decide. Do we send them a deposit right away and if so for how much?

Hey cpkrn2b2011 you mentioned that they were doing things in an interesting order.. how is that? What order are they going in? I wonder if they reject letters out already as well. I'm just sooo nervous like I hope I hear something real soon so I can sleep better.

I don't know the order, I'm just commenting on what y'all are saying here! Looks to me like they sent out the wait list first, that's all. Last year, they sent everything out in 2 big lumps with no order. Just sayin'

The deposit we had was $50 but I wouldn't take that in stone, they seem to be doing things much differently.

Ok you guys. When someone gets theirs could they post the time frame the school wants a response and how much of a deposit we have to send?

I will be in jury duty today so I hope you guys provide a lot of entertainment.

ChanelCinq..I will be sure to...I have my husband looking out for the mail bc I don't get off until 3:00, but I will be sure to post that information .
