Today I took, and failed miserably:crying2:, LS1. I know I am not the first (or last)
to fail an exam but this has hit me like a ton of bricks. When taking the exam,
I felt like I knew the information well. Got to the desk and looked at my score
and felt like it must have been a scoring error. Now that I have had time to
grieve and recover, My question is this, When studying the content guide and
reading all the required material what other study matierials have you found to
be helpful? I have used Lisa Arends for Micro and SG101 for another gen ed exam
but thought that I had a better understanding just reading the material out of
the texts. I am NOT a good test taker, I rush, second guess, and have had to
train myself not to fall into these habits. Any advice would be helpful! (I am
also posting this on antoher site sorry if it is a repeat for you. I really do
need help to feel like I am back on track)

For this exam, I used Saunders Comprehensive Review mostly and got a "B".
I also purchased excelsior practice exams and took exam "A" early in my studies, then Exam "B" couple days before I test. I go thru all the questions I got wrong on each (A/B) and studied the rationales. If you do that you should be fine. If you didn't purchase the practice exams.....you should!!! Good Luck next time!
You may also want to buy a text called, "TEST SUCCESS" by Patricia Nugent. There are 3 books in the series......Fundamentals & Med Surg Success. These books will help you understand the materials also. The "TEST SUCCESS" will teach you how to reduce your test fears, how to recognize wrong answers etc. Buy it! It's VERY helpful! ISBN #9780803618947.

Sorry about ur failure, but i agree with Determine2b about the listed books. When i failed H&S i used the test success and it helped me alot. Will purchase the med-surg success when i'm ready to test for the LS exams. Good luck next time u will make it. Just try and pick up the pieces and move on.
