lpn vs. rn

I work in a nursing home in ohio.I understand they really dont have a difference there.Just diffrent titles.I want to work in childrens hosptial as an rn.But i wanna be sure.Cant anyone tell me the real diffrence between the two?Far as school time and descriptons
