I am an older lpn student at a local community college and I am just about to begin my actual nursing classes. I have been reading several threads in the nursing student forum that involve students being dismissed from their programs.
I realize grades, attendance, and clinical performance all factor into your success as a student. For what other reasons would a student be dismissed from a nursing program?
Is there any advice you would give to someone who has never been in the medical field ? I do have STNA certification and CPR and I want to leave my current job soon for an entry level position at a local LTC. My grades are strong thus far but I am spooked after reading these posts. Any advice would be appreciated.

A. I would come prepared for class and clinical. Do all your reading.
B. Ask lots of questions, but try to research them first.
C. Practice Safe nursing, follow the policies to the letter.
D. Try to get hands on experience as a CNA.
Enjoy
Thank you so much!
The suggestions you listed are things I already try to do -I tend to be a perfectionist and I hate being unprepared. I have been working on a resume and plan to vist a few LTC facilities next week. I am finally ready to jump in with both feet.
