I am currently licensed in Ontario, Canada as an Registered Practical Nurse, although I am not a working nurse. I have been looking into practicing in the US. I recently went to a career fair where a lot of US agencies and hospitals were specifically looking for RNs only because of the TN Visa. This pretty much meant I couldn't work in the states unless I went back to school to bridge to the RN program and complete it.
However, I stumbled upon an immigration law booth and spoke to a representative and gave me some advice I have never heard of before. She said that as an RPN/LPN from Canada, all I needed were several courses to take (ethics was one of the courses she mentioned) to be able to write the NCLEX (specific to a state that you choose). She had also mentioned that once I did those courses, it pretty much was equivalent to finishing the RN program in the states. Is that right?
Does anyone know what she is talking about or have any idea how I can go about finding what courses are needed to take the NCLEX?

There is at least one past thread on this topic, the title of that particular thread is 'RPN working in the US as RN, it's true', you can use the search tool in the top right hand corner to find it.
