I am currently a student taking a Lpn course in Alberta. My goal is to become a Rn in B.C and I hope to accomplish this through distance learning while working as a lpn in B.C.I can't seem to find many upgrade courses and especially not ones through distance learning. If anyone has any information that may help me complete my search I'd really appreciate it also if anyone has any advice about becoming a nurse in another province I'd appreciate that too.
Thank you

Your best bet is the bridge through Athabasca.
You need to maintain your AB license and you need to have a certain number of hours experience as an employed LPN (usually 1200+hours). All Clinical hours are completed in Alberta at hospitals of the university's choice.
From what I've heard, their bridge is more generous than the one offered by GMCC. I haven't really heard much about the bridge in BC other than for a while their were more LPNs than spots. Usually, after completing the prereqs (first year university transfer Arts courses) you as an experienced LPN are admitted to year two of the four year BScN. Which means you have to hope that some of the BScN students dropped out at the end of first year.
Good luck.
