In many instances (but not all), the answer to your question is often going to be "no."
Let's pretend that you are a working RN who attained an A.S. degree from Excelsior and later on earned a B.S. in nursing from a private university's RN-to-BSN completer program. Let's pretend that, after 10 years of working as an RN, you decide to relocate across the country or do travel nursing.
When you apply for licensure by endorsement in the new state, they review the nursing education and clinical hours that originally led to your original RN licensure in the state where you first became licensed. They're not paying attention to the RN-to-BSN completer program. They're reviewing the A.S. program, which led to your original licensure, to make sure that it meets the requirements for practice as an RN in the new state.
The problem that some states have with Excelsior is the lack of clinical hours offered during the course of the program. In addition, many RN-to-BSN completer programs are pure theory and offer no clinical rotations.
The University of Phoenix offers an LPN-to-BSN program.Western Governor's University (WGU) also offers an online LPN-to-RN program.
Would you/could you (please) post a link to the portion of the WGU site (or Phoenix) where there is a LPN-to-RN program? I can't find it and I'm very interested - all I could find was the RN to BSN, etc...Thanks!
