I am guessing they are just using the comprehensice LPN hesi exam, as an extrance exam. My program uses the hesi and after I was accepted to the second year of a 1+1 program they had me come take the hesi with their soon to finish LPN class, which I later joined after they all passed their LPN boards. It was conprehensive and was supposed to prepare them for their boards/predict their proformance. The director had suggested that I use NCLEX-LPN books and material to study for it. There are even HESI review books out there you can buy. We are nearly through with the program now and prepare for more HESIs, so several of my classmate have purchased the review books. I did very minimal studying and scored 1100 and something, which was awesome because they were wanting everyone to get at least 914. Anyway, they are NCLEX style questions, similar to the ATI my LPN program used.

Good Luck

thank you so much for responding!!!

I am also gettin ready to take the HESI test at howard comm college. I am scheduled for the week of nov 7th - 11th. I am also looking for materials to prepare with. I will let you know what I find, please do the same.

Thanks,

Michelle

I took the Hesi LPN mobilty Exam this past Thursday and did extremely well. I picked up an NCLEX review book from the local library and studied the disk included in the back of the book for a couple days (mosbys). I focused on the Med Surg, Mental Health, Peds, and Pharm sections. I was nervous and scared about not doing well because my application for the RN program depended on my results. The HESI is used to guage how one will do on the NCLEX, most programs use it at the end of their program as an exit test. Schools do not want their students to take and fail the NCLEX so they make the HESI a requirement before graduating.

Hope this was helpful,

Michelle

how long did you study?
