Hello, I've been searching for LPN programs in the Toledo, Ohio area. The two schools that I found are Toledo Practical School of Nursing and Athena Career Academy! After doing further research I found that both schools are not fully approved by the ohio board of nursing. They are under "provisional approval". From my understanding, students can still complete the program and sit for the NCLEX-PN. My only concern is starting the program and the schools losing approval while I'm enrolled! Does anyone have information about Athena and Toledo school of practical nursing? Any former or current students?

Can anyone weigh in on this? I'd like to know if anyone has further details on this, also.

I would personally look at Owens if you want an LPN program. A lot of the pre-reqs are similar to their RN program (I think for anatomy they give you two options). My friend failed out the traditional RN program and then went into the LPN program and then he finished the LPN to RN program there. I believe one of my coworkers who failed out of Stautzenberger went to Athena and she liked it but it has been about 3 years?

I am currently at Athena career academy, I will graduate in a week. Honestly nursing school is what you make of it, Athena gives you your IV certification. There was a lot of turn over with both staff and students. But one of my instructions told me if I wanted it bad enough you will make it.I had some really amazing teachers.
