LPN planning to move to Phoenix

Published

Im an LPN with 2 1/2 years experience currently living in the Myrtle Beach, SC area. Jobs for LPN's in this area are sporifice. Feel like there isn't much opportunity here anymore. Have been researching Phoenix area for the past few months. I currently make $17 an hour. Average around here is $14-$19 an hour. Cost of living is pretty high compared to the pay in the Myrtle Beach area...maybe not all of South Carolina. Anyways, trying to get out of the tourist area before my daughter starts school. Am planning to apply to places in Phoenix and wondering what kind of salary I can expect or ask for??? I currently work two jobs, both at long term/rehabilitation nursing homes. I work full time 12 hour shifts at one and part time 24 hours week at the other. I usually get one day off a week. I average 60hours or more per week and after barely making $47,000 for the year decided I need to relocate to an area with more opportunities as an LPN and to further my education. Here are just some quick things I'd like more details on....

A decent 2 bed 1 or 2 bath apartment in this area is $975

I have lived here for approx. 5 years and utilities have averaged $200-250(1250-1500sqft)

All me research seems to point to a cost of living comparable to the Myrtle Beach area. However, when researching lpn jobs there are several postings with salary ranges between $23-$30 hourly. With an average at about $25/hour.
