hello everyone,
i am very new to this forum. i been reading many threads for the past couple of weeks. after doing some research i decided to go for my LPN instead of my RN at moment because i wanted to get into is extremely hard to get into. i have one question for future and past LPN's out there, what is the best job to have as a LPN student? i am already working as an CNA at the moment i was thinking about taking a phlebotomy course over the summer to have some experience before starting my nursing classes and to get a better job as an CNA. Do you think that would b a smart idea?
Thanks in advance for the replies :)

actually, I did the cpt-1 phlebotomist program before doing the lvn and I didn't use it.
It will help you however in the future when you apply to jobs and they see you are nationally competent to draw blood. However, when in school, it quickly becomes intense. If you can get loans and grants, that will be the best thing- allows you to focus on school, on your future investments.
i just finished my lvn program and I worked up till halfway, my priorities were on school, money second, because i knew the future will bring it in.
so i suggest focusing on school if you can. there are correlations that suggest people with no job, will more likely pass the nursing course satisfactorily. If you can juggle the work, more power to you but please don't wear yourself out or spread yourself too thin. Realize what you want your ending goal to be and try to surpass it, i know you can do it. :) good luck on your journey.
