Yes, Ive tried both of them. No phone call back yet. The only people who call back are those who don't hire new grads. Thanx for the info, I will keep trying.

Try the Golden Living Center in Westminster, MD, they do hire new grads sometimes. The website is www.goldenlivingcenters.com This company of facilities in different states and I think there are about four facilities in Maryland. Also, try University Specialty Hospital in Baltimore, MD. It is a subacute hospital. They do sometimes take new grads. This hospital is a part of University of Maryland Medical System.

About 2yrs ago the starting pay at those to places were about $19-20.75/hr.

University Specialty pays about $20.75/hr day shift and $3 for night shift. This Specialty hospital back then have a Med-Surg, Vent and Traumatic Brain Injury units.

Also, I think maybe North West Hospital in Randallstown hire LPN sometimes.

I just hated when HR give this attitude. never return calls back or "we will give you a call if been selected". They even have a messege on thier voice mail "if you are calling to check on your application don't leave a voice mail we will call you ". I mean give us a break just say no you were not selected so we can move on!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi. There is not a lot posted right now, but if you live in or are willing to commute to the Annapolis area, this is a good site to visit. They update postings every week, trust me I know, I look a lot! They also sometimes have jobs posted for other areas in Maryland. The majority of these postings are for LTC, home health, or outpatient office settings. Of course they often post for experience, but many state that they are willing to train the right person, so check it out, and good luck! www.hometownannapolis.com

TO MissBrittanyRN, thank you very much, Im going to check it out right now.

OMG! My exp has just been getting worse. I get a job with Mollen Immunization and I assumed I was going to be working, I stopped putting in apps. No response from them so now I am out of job! I have been applying now for one year with three serious leads. One facility told me to go back to school. The other place hored someone with more exp. And the prison called before they changed DON. Sometime corrections will hire new LPN's. I hear nurses say it feels safer there with all the officers, there are NO officers in LTC! Good luck! Keep your head up!

@ onepatientnurse, this is the worst isnt it. its as if we never went to school. how can we get the experience we need if we cant get a job. i havent even had an interview yet. i want to go back to school for rn but need a job to be able to afford to go back. but i will keep trying eventually something will come threw. i just pray its real soon. lol you keep your head up to.

I recently looked into taking a class in phlebotomy and/or EKG's. I was hoping to boost my marketability. Still, this an expense I am afraid to incur! I am now considering relocating..at least for a short while, in order to gain experience. Maybe just for the weekends-depending on the salary. I keep looking but I am trying to keep my options open. Thanks for the words of encouragement! :nurse:
