Is it outpatient or inpatient? That makes a difference. You will probably be monitoring withdrawal symptoms, medicating for them, maybe doing admissions and discharges, and maybe running groups or talking with patients one on one.
Hi I also have an interview for a doctors office. Do you have any idea what i would do in a Dr. office setting? It all seems easy compared to LTC!
Hi Mermaidunderwater... how'd your interview go? I too have the same experience, first job out of nursing school-- sub-acute/LTC. Interviewed at a detox facility. Praying that they'll pick me : )
Can you believe that they cancelled my interview?? I have since applied at other open jobs in addiction at other facilities. I hope they pick you!!! Keep in touch and let me know if they do!!!
I've been working @ inpatient-outpatient detox facility for almost 7 months now. I work night shift 730 pm- 8 am. My jobs include: passing medication (including methadone), monitoring for withdrawal symptoms, preparing for discharges, assessment, charting. When I worked day shift, my jobs include: admitting new pt, assessment, administering vivitrol shot, performing Tb test, charting.
