Hello, I could really use some advice on when to go back to LVN school! I just finished going to school to receive my MA(Medical Assistant) and I am currently looking for a job. I would like to go for my LVN this august but I don't know if I should. I also have a nine month old I have to consider.

JL I don't think anyone can actually give you advice on when you should go thats totally up to you. But I can say check into some programs and maybe start on some pre-req's. That way in case you do decide you will already have that done. Look at your financial situation and homelife , if you think you can do it by all means try.

I can't speak from personal experience (not married, no kids, live at home..lucky me hehe). However, there are many people in my LPN class who juggle kids/work and live to tell the tale. My classes are 5 days a week/7 hours per day. Just be real with yourself. Find out exactly what the school is going to expect from you. Know that they will slam you with tons of work and you won't get much time for a social life. You'll lose sleep and your temper I'm sure, but it's worth it. Keep your eye on the prize. It's only going to be about a year and yes you can make it. Good luck with whatever it is you decide!
