New Grad: Ortho/Sports Med or School Nurse

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

Hi guys!

I am a fairly new LPN, I graduated in March of 2018, obtained license mid April. I am currently working in pediatric home health (weekend noc), but I am leaving my job due to childcare issues. I am currently being offered two positions, one as a school nurse assistant and another at an orthopedic clinic.

What would you do?

Part of me wants to go into school nursing.. excellent pay/benefits/low stress (at times), but, I know that gaining clinic experience will help strengthen my resume, allowing me to transfer to a different department if I don't enjoy ortho nursing in the future.

The ortho clinic averages 50-100 patients a day, so it's going to be BUUUSY.

Advice?

Thanks!
