I just wanted to know if anyone could help me out. We (hubby and I) may move to Richmond and I was wanting to get some insight on jobs. Do the hospitals hire LPNs outside of clinics? Where are some good places to work? I work for HealthSouth right now and can transfer, but I'd like some ER experience-where I work is pretty much med-surg but I'd like some acute exp rather than sub-acute.
What are the common hours? I have worked in states where eight is standard, but others where 12 is. where I work, you can do 4, 8, 12, and 16. Of course, the 4's are usually overtime, you cover just part of the shift.

Many hospitals utilize LPN's in Med/Surg, PCU, OR, and where I live sometimes they will hire LPN's in the ER. Since I don't live in Richmond I can't say for sure whether or not they hire LPN's to do the ER but I really doubt it. I hope this helps!
