I have not worked for 6 years since I had my kids. I want to return to LTC nursing PRN. My license is active. Am I going to need to take courses or retake the NCLEX PN since I haven't worked in over 5 years or am I ok since my license is still active?
Has anyone taken time off from nursing? Did you have a problem when you went to return back? How long were you off?
Thanks for your help.

Check out the "start here - PA nursing info" sticky posted on 1-1-07. You might find it helpful. Good luck.

If you are actively licensed then there is no issue w/the state ... only w/individual employers who may have differing opinions on whether or not your experience is out-of-date.
Good luck to you! :)
