Hi everyone I was recently sent a denial due to my past In the past I have failed classes and withdrawed from them and that is not my current situation. Currently I am a A student all pre nursing classes I failed I retook them and got As. All required classes for the program I got all As one B and one C. I feel that its unfair to use my past against me and they should consider what I have been able to do now. I am older in a better place, I was a single mother of two with many issues back then and had to put my education on the back burner but finally when I decided to go back and finish what I started and they denied me the opportunity to prove myself I have finished a whole year of school with all As no withdraws no failires. Does anyone know what I can to to appeal this decision or what should I do? I don't want to give up my dream to become a nurse. I don't know if I should apply elsewhere because what if they denied me for the same thing? I passed the TEAS test with flying colors too. I would give my all to prove them wrong I know why I did bad in the past but that is not me now. I'm a better person an A student. Please anyone out there give me advise should I give up nursing or should I keep going?

Go to a different school. I don't know how they work in your area, but in mine they only care about the last 24 credit hours as far as gpa is computed. Take a look at other community colleges in your area. Also remember, only take classes if you have enough time to get an A in them. It's better to only go one class a semester and get an A than it is to take 3 classes and get two B's and a C.

Griffin123 hi I usually take 3 classes per semester and get all As that's now but my past was dropping courses or failed classes or ds in important science classes I reattempted them and didn't do well but currently I have reattempted the biology class and a and p 2 class with an A to show them then I was going thru a tough time and didn't know the seriousness of failed or dropped classes. I currently have a 4.0 and they still did not except me and I have completed all generals so what other options do I have? Should I contact the dean? Reapply? Go to another school or take more classes that have nothing to do with nursing?

While you may have a 4.0 in current classes your cumulative gpa can not be. They may accept students based on that not your current gpa. Each school is different. Some do total, some do last 30 credits, some do last 5 years, etc.
