Hi everyone,

I have been going back and forth between the LPN and RN debate for a while but think I am gonna go for the LPN first because I really need to work right away. I am in the atlanta area and have a husband and 2 kids. Can anyone let me know what LPNs start with in atl. Thanks a million.

According to salary.com, the median pay for a LPN is 36,454.

I feel you because I might find a school in ATL that I can go to for LPN and do the whole RN thing later

Go to the Emory website. I forget what box you have to check but IT IS NOT NURSING FOR LPN'S. When you find out which box it is and put in the key word LPN, it will give you all the LPN job openings they currently have and will give you the low end of pay and the middle end of pay. I do know that they have LPN I AND LPN II. LPN II pays more b/c you have to have successfully passed a IV Certification class or practiced IV for 2 yrs. Also check WellStar, they tell how much the pay on their site too. The rest of the hospitals that I have checked like Tenet and Appling, dont tell you how much you can expect to get paid. I have done a lot of research (Im not finished) b/c I will be moving in a few months plus it matters d/t the cost of living, I mean you have to eat and have a decent roof over your head right?! I am a new grad LPN myself so I know how you feel.
