Does anyone know of a reputable on-line LPN-ASN/BSN educational program? I have heard of Excelsior College program but I am not sure about it. If I took the ASN program and decide to go to BSN on-campus locally - are those credits transferable? How do I find out if excelsior is truly accredited? HELP!

Welcome to allnurses! I've moved your post over to the Distance Learning forum, where there are a lot of Excelsior College students and grads (I'm a graduate myself). EC's ADN program is NLNAC-accredited; however, because there aren't clinicals concurrent with theory, there are a couple of states that won't license you (California and Maryland), and other states with a few extra clinical hoops students have to jump through. There is info on EC's website:

I graduated from EC in 2008 and went on to an RN-BSN program. The only issue that sometimes arises with EC credits transferring is that some schools won't accept EC's A&P and Micro because they are competency exams without lab components. However, there are some BSN programs that don't make you repeat them for that reason.
Also, Indiana State University has an LPN-to-BSN program:

There are some threads about that program in this forum as well. I'm not as familiar with it, though.

Go to your state's board of nursing website. They should list approved nursing programs, which should also list online nursing schools. As far as which classes transfer, you would need to discuss this with the university.
Thanks for the info. I do'nt see on-line classes listed on the MA BORN website so I sent them an email. I do see the on-site classes though.
