Hello all,
I was just accepted into Loyola's ACNP program. I'm looking for feedback or information regarding their program.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Hey!
I actually can't be of any help to you about Loyola's program.. but I did have a question for you if you don't mind.
I'm looking into applying for the fall of 2012. What I can't get a clear answer to is if any RN work experience is needed before you can be admitted to the program. I know that 2000 RN work hours are needed before starting your specialty clinical practicum.. when does this practicum begin in the program?
Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks and good luck!
Loyola's program is front loaded so you must complete the vast majority of the didactic classwork prior to enrolling in clinicals. One must also have CCRN certification in order to begin clinicals in the ACNP program. They are one of increasingly few schools who have a strong preference for nurses with clinical experience. Clinicals are conducted from Aug to May in the last year of the program (390 hrs per semester). I was told by the admissions counselor that you can go part-time while working to get the 2000 clinical nursing hours.
