Hi there!

The fall quarter has come to an end and after the new year I will be starting my last two prerequisites (A&P2 and lifespan psychology). I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel! I'm a student at Lower Columbia College in Longview, Washington and am planning on applying this spring for fall 2017 admission to their RN program. I just wanted to start a thread for anyone who may be in the same boat as me in the area or people who have been through the process.

In a perfect world, I'd like to complete my associate's here at LCC and then finish my bachelor's at WSU-Vancouver.

Hi there!

I'm surprised there haven't been more responses on here! I'm applying this fall for the winter/spring cohort at LCC. Your deadline is approaching pretty soon! How are you feeling?

Hello!

It feels AMAZING. After taking prereqs for so long, it's so exciting to be able to finally take this step forward. :) I'm turning in my application this afternoon and hope to take the TEAS in July. I want to ask amd see if I can take the test earlier than that, but if not then oh well. It's just more time to prepare. I've been studying like a fiend for that bad boy!

Aw I'm so excited for you! I can't wait to be at that point! Keep me updated on how it goes!

When I turned my application in at school, I was told that I should be receiving instructions in a couple weeks via email on how and when to schedule both my TEAS test and the critical thinking test in July. It seems so far away now, but I know it's going to sneak up on me!

I had all of my prerequisites completed until the nursing adviser alerted me that my Psych 100 class (completed at another school) was only 4 credits. So this quarter I'm enrolled in a 1 credit online Psych course to make up the difference.

I passed my TEAS and my critical thinking tests today. Now I must wait until late August to hear if I made it into the Fall start of the RN program...

Did you guys start this passed august? I am extremely interested in this program. I have all prereq done from chamberlain, but wanted to know if they will accept their credits. I live in Ga so I am going to have to get a WA license. When is the appropriate time to take the tea and the other test?

The fall quarter started in late September. Winter starts in January and Spring in April. It's tough to get into. I didn't get in, but I was accepted into another RN program. They give points for letter grades, teas test, and the critical thinking test. And they do pick students who did their prereqs there at LCC first.

I read your post on another thread re: online AP1&2. I was wondering if you took those at LCC? Who was your AP1 professor? Did you have to purchase a lab kit or were all labs online? Are tests online or proctored?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I took it online with Rhonda Meyers. There was no lab kit to purchase, but there were separate lab exams. Tests were proctored either on campus or online at home through ProctorU (which is an extra $45, I think). Online "labs" were essentially studying different parts of the body through photos and then we were tested on the computer about those body systems. When I took it, she gave us photos to study and then those same photos were used for exam. She would have a line pointing to a part of it and the answers would be multiple choice.
