Low GPA- Need Help!

Published

I graduated with my BSN almost 10 years ago. I am very eager to get into a FNP program. The unfortunate part is that my GPA is only a 2.75. I graduated as a single mother with two children working full time and taking 16-17 credits a semester to graduate. My mind set at the time was just graduate...Now I am struggling finding a school with such a low GPA. Any suggestions?

Spacklehead- which FNP programs have you seen that allow you to apply for "non-matriculated" status? Not finding 2 many that advertise that option. Thanks for you time..

The schools didn't advertise it, but if you read through their graduate school handbooks, it is outlined in there. You would have to look at schools that interest you and then read the handbook (most are available in pdf online).

Also wanted to mention, this isn't a way to get around not taking the GREs or sending in letters of rec, but it is a way to prove to the school you are interested in that you can handle grad school courses if your undergrad GPA was low. You would still need to go through the formal application process to eventually become matriculated at that school.
