Low GPA, Do I still have a shot?

Published

My dream is to be a physical therapist, but I wanted to become an RN since they ask for any bachelors as a requirement. I took some prereqs at a CC and did terrible because I was immature/lazy, got a bunch of Cs and Bs. So I transferred to a Uni with an AA and a 3.19 GPA and hit a brick wall when I saw the 3.50 GPA requirement, and they also state that admission is based on first-attempt prerequisites..? so is it hopeless to even retake some of these prereqs somewhere else or at the same Uni? I was thinking of doing a year of those prereqs at my Uni.

If you're in the US, I advise you to broaden your scope & look at other nursing programs because there is no standard method for determining admission criteria or calculating GPA for admission.

Why would you get a BSN when you want to be a PT? I'm assuming you need to get your Bachelor's in biology or something like that. Classes that pertain to your major. I would speak to your advisor at your school. My sister is a PT and she has her doctorate. She did not get a BSN. Look at what is going to help you get to your goal.
