My primary RN license is in Louisiana and it is on probation for non-narcotic discrepancies. I also have a license in California that I never used. I received notification that Cali was seeking discipline on my Cali license because of it.
Spoke with them and consulted with lawyers. My options are a hearing, probation with toll or surrender. Everything is saying not too surrender my license but I can not find any information on tolling. I saw that the OIG list sends you a notice and allows you to give reason why you should not be on the list but im not sure I want to risk it. I already notified my state board so I would not get a failure to notify of California. They just told me to keep them updated. I have been on my Louisiana probation for 6 months and doing great. I thought I was through with this until now. I just want this to be settled and continue with my Louisiana probation.

Am NOT surprised. Usually when one state sanctions a nurse, any and all other states with which the applicant holds a license will also be scrutinized.
Just a public safety precaution that all the state BONs follow.
Make sure your lawyers are familiar with nsg BON issues in BOTH states.
Good luck to you.
