I am a registered nurse with five years of ICU experience from Level I trauma MICU and SICU to community hospital experience. I would like to know what RN pay is generally for this amount of experience in the New Orleans area. Any advice on hospitals would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You would probably start 30-33.00 plus diffs. I work at an HCA facility near New Orleans and started at 24 an hour plus diffs. The HCA facility actually in New orleans started at 25. At one year you go up and then I believe you go to another level for 2-7 years.

But im sure pay is always negotiable. Nola area is in dire need of nurses, and you sound like you have alot of experience.

Thank you for your reply. I am interested in working at University Medical Center. I come from a Level I trauma hospital background and I feel comfortable in this type of environment. If anyone had any info on pay rates here, that would be awesome.
