Whatever you do, don't go to LC.
Louisiana College's nursing program is placed on CONDITIONAL approval due to POOR NCLEX PASS SCORES (60%) and lack of qualified teachers. THE LOWEST SCORES in the STATE and way below national average.
I graduated from the program in May 2009. It was a waste of time, effort, and money. LC is really, really expensive.
You will also be required on top of your heavy workload to attend REQUIRED chapel sessions and get cultural credits. This is really hard to handle during nursing school.

The program also had a major alleged cheating controversy last Spring in regard to classes.
I'm begging you and warning you at the same time. If the program doesn't improve, it will lose accreditation. Your degree will be worth nothing.
So, DONT GO TO LC!!! Please! I regret it so much
***** Once again, now in 2017, even under a new dean, Louisiana College's pass rates are less than sufficient with the same under qualified teachers. In order to save their ass, the nursing program failed 40% of their graduating class 3 weeks before graduation in an attempt to up their NCLEX passing percentage. Being a private school they can do whatever they want. This school is complete crap do not attend LC for nursing or any other program. Administration of the institution is also in a downward spiral.
DO NOT GO HERE! It is 2020 and this program is back to being absolutely terrible. This is the worst school in the south and the only school in Louisiana on probation. You will experience it all here: racism, nepotism, and the changing of grades. The only good teachers teach physical assessment, peds, and med two. Every other class is terrible and you will spend a majority of your time teaching yourself after paying the high cost tuition. The dean is extremely lazy and rarely knows what is going on. She will teach you patho your first semester and give you whatever grade she wants. Nothing is done by merit or hard work. Simply knowing your parents can help you pass here. The clinical experience is very unorganized and limited, and you will graduate only by the grace of God. The rules, grade requirements, and syllabus change for each cohort based on how the staffs personal feelings towards that cohort. Save yourself the trouble, time, and money and go to ANY other ABSN. Worst experience of my life!

I have not posted here for a while but am upset about hearing that the Dean left LC in the summer along with most of the nursing faculty. I hope the excellent NCLEX pass rate does not suffer but with most of the excellent faculty who taught our class now gone i am not sure that things will ever be the same. I will keep praying for LC and the nursing program.
