This is a long story, so I will try to make it short.
I just began attending college again this semester. I am working on completing my prerequisites currently and my intention was to transfer to a school an hour away (we'll call this school B) this fall and begin the ADN program. For sake of ease I am taking my prereqs at a school much closer (we'll call this school A) as it is within a statewide community college district that makes transferring relatively seamless.
I had official transcripts sent from my AAS degree to both schools back in September, when I applied for general admission. School A already evaluated these for honorable credits. I spoke to school B the end of December and initiated the transcript review for credit process. I was told it would take 3 weeks to process. Long story short (again) transfer credits never posted for school B, so I contacted them and after giving me the run around for a week, they finally admitted that they "misplaced" my transcripts. (I had sent copies to both the Registrar and the Nursing Office). I resent my transcripts along with a letter detailing my situation today, and they seem rather relaxed about repairing the situation (I however am NOT).
The school I am attending (A) is regionally but not ACEN accredited for their nursing program. The school an hour away is both regionally and ACEN accredited, but if they are going to lose important documents, I am just not sure that I want to attend. I am applying to both now to buy time for a decision
The non ACEN accredited school is much closer. I have talked to RNs and it has a good rep, and I live in a small city with a large organization owning most of the medical facilities. What I have gathered is they have issues with RN retention due to lack of a competitive salary, but I have facebook stalked (I know that sounds crazy, but it was just to find employement) all the recent grads of school A and they are all employed at this organization. I also looked into the state's RN to BSN programs and they will almost all accept that particular programs credits.
This school has been very organized and on top of correspondance.
The ACEN accredited school also has a good reputation. They would be an hour commute. They have some specific agreements with universities for a BSN bridge, but overall not too different. They do only have an interim program head so that makes me uneasy. They also do not require Microbiology, and A and P are part of the program, not prereqs.
These are the only 2 schools within an hour radius except for a new hospital program (tuition is triple), and ITT Tech (not interested).
So what would you do?
If I can gain employment and then pursue my BSN from a nationally accredited program will it matter that I got my ADN from one that wasn't?
I am just starting to think I see red flags with the nationally accreditted program.

You may have problems getting accepted into some BSN programs with an ADN from a non ACEN accredited program. Do a search, there are plenty of discussions about this.
