Lost Midwife

Published

Many of you wil know that I am a uk trained nurse midwife with over 20 yrs experience and whilst my nursing qualification was easy to convert my midwifery qualification is another story - I feel that I may never be able to practise midwifery in the USA unless I take an entry type course which I may not even get in to - this makes me feel sad although I have got a great job it is not midwifery. There is no real answer to this post I am following up the posibilites- but my family is very happy and the price may be midwifery - Just feeling sorry for my self.

Hello,

I too can feel your frustration! I am living in HK and want to get a post masters degree in Midwifery (Neonatal NP for 8 years) So I am starting the same hunt...only my issue is doing distance learning..then convincing my husband I will be living overseas for 3-6 months without him to do my preceptorship...Frontier has a long history...I had a friend from my undergrad program who just couldn't wait to go to Frontier when we graduated...always heard so much about Ida May Gaskins! Anyway...good luck to you, with your experience..anyone would be lucky to have you....maybe we will be classmates! LOL
