hello, everyone
i am currently attending city tech 2nd year.
i recently finished all my pre req classes and re taking math
because i got a D in it last term and failed the nln and of course
didnt get into the program. I am re taking everything math and taking the
nln again in April. I just have a feeling im not getting in, my weak point would be math, i am really
trying my best, but it just isn't helping. I was thinking of changing schools, but i wouldn't know
where to go i was thinking either Hostos college, Lehman, Megar evers, kingsborough but i need
to do more research on it. Right now im just feeling really discouraged/depressed. I was wondering
if anyone could offer some advice? City tech to me is a great school but i need a A in math to at least get into the program, and i really don't see that happening probably a B+ my gpa is a 2.5 im trying to boost that up by the end of the term but i probably with barely make it into the program. So i was thinking of just transfering into a better school where i might have a better change of getting in, i am studying really hard for the nln and feel a lil bit better about it.
so really anything would really help! :)
thank you,

I would look into finding a good math tutor, and look into office hours for your math instructors. Let your instructor know that you are focused on getting a good grade in their class, and let them know of your difficulties. Hopefully they will be able to help you with after hour instruction.
Then use your time with the tutor to reinforce what was taught or not understood in class.
IMO, I wouldn't be so quick to change schools; people are always so eager to believe that the grass is always greener somewhere else, but this is not always true. Try sticking it out where you are, you say that it is a good school. If you stick it out & suceed, this will be a wonderful boost of self confidence & a great life lesson.
Also, I always used rate my professors to pick my instructors whenever possible, and I have found most of the ratings to be fairly accurate. (There are always some that are just a disgruntled student, but for the most part pretty right on) By using this site, I was able to get a feel for the instructor first, this really helped if I knew I was going to need a great instructor for a difficult subject.
Good luck!
thank you so much it means a lot, i will try and see what happens :-)
