Los Angeles Pierce College Winter/Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello, My name is Emmely. I wanted to start a topic for those of us who have applied to the GCC program for 2019. Let's keep each other updated.

Hey guys, I am in my 3rd semester at Pierce and just wanted to say, "hang in there!" I know that Pierce doesn't have a secretary at the moment so it's probably hard for most of you to get hold of the admission staff there. Rest assured the email notifications to students are coming out in the next few weeks so try to be patient. I hope you'll hear good news soon!

Hey guys, a couple weeks ago I was notified of my acceptance to Pierce! I wanted to post on here and ask if anyone is familiar with the program, especially the first semester schedule? I'm trying to figure out if I will be able to work at the same time (I work at an outpatient office, so regular business hours 8:30-5 and closed on weekends). I'm hoping to work at least one day a week.

Also, anyone from LA familiar with the reputation of the program? I'm from OC so I have somewhat of a grasp of what the school is like, but it's hard to tell just from online resources. Thanks guys!

Hey Ashtiz,

Congrats on your acceptance! To answer your question, I'm very familiar with the Pierce program so you can always privately message me with any questions you have.

In terms of school schedule, you'll be taking 4 classes total in the first semester: 2 classes on Monday (Med/Surg 8am-10am and then Psychology from 10:30-11:30am). You have Tuesday off. Then, you have 2 more classes on Wednesday: Gerontology from 9am-10am and Pharm same day from 10:30-11:30am. You'll have clinicals on Thursday and Friday (7am- 3:30pm). Your weekends are free. So you can work anytime on Tuesday, Saturday or Sunday or on Mon/Wed after 11:30am. Any other questions, just PM me.

Thank you so much for the information! So helpful. If I have any more questions I'll make sure to PM you :)

I just realized I can't send any private messages to nursing students who are asking me questions because the Allnurses website requires users to have a minimum of 15 posts before they can send private messages. Talk about inconvenience! So if you have any questions for me, just text me directly at (469) 396-3369. Thanks!
