Los Angeles corrections

Published

I am possibly starting a contract at either men's central jail or the twin towers in Los Angeles with a good friend of mine. Has anyone worked at either location or can tell me how the work flow is?

Thank you!

Hi I have an upcoming interview with them. Did you end up working there, if so how was it?

I left my contract early LOL. It seemed unsafe , the CO's barely did their job and the amount of drugs they were prescribing the inmates was extremely unsafe dosages so I felt uncomfortable giving it to them on my license. The job itself was super easy but I see why nurses there are sued often . Not worth it for me

omggg what!! I was so excited because I'm a new grad and after 80 applications this is the 3rd place that got back to me, and it's county so good benefits. which one did you end up working at if you don't mind me asking. I tried to PM you but I couldn't.

Hmm not sure why you can't pm me. I worked at men's central jail. Most of the nurses that work there never worked bedside just went straight to corrections after school  so it's hard for them to get another nursing job so they felt kinda stuck. Especially after doing it for years . The job itself isn't bad I just didn't feel safe license wise and environment wise because of all the drugs and smoke the inmates were always cooking up . The senior nurses have it the best because less interaction with the inmates but they're job was pretty mundane
