i am currently pursuing my doctorate in nursing practice and am looking for clinical locations and preceptors in the western missouri or eastern kansas area. i am willing to travel for a good location, but would appreciate any help you could give me. it is under this pretense that i am writing you today concerning clinical hours that i have coming up in the following courses:

  • n8430--reproductive and sexual health primary care
    • reproductive, sexual issues, adolescence through aging. design, delivery, evaluation of nursing management of women, reproductive health care of men. stresses personal health promotion.
    • clinical hours: 90
    • spring of 2014 from late january through late april, approximately 6-8 hours per week.

- nur 8420--newborn through adolescence primary care

o course description: advanced nursing practice of newborn through adolescent of health maintenance/promotion, clinical diagnosis and management of common childhood illness, behavioral, developmental problems. advanced knowledge of human growth, development, family dynamics, community resources, collaborative relationships. integrated clinical practicum.

o clinical hours needed: 90.

o fall of 2013 from august through the end of november, approximately 6-8 hours per week.

if it is possible that i would be able to complete any of these clinical hours at your facility or even if you could put me in contact with an available nurse practitioner at your facility to discuss the possibility, i would be truly appreciative. this journey towards becoming a family nurse practitioner is exciting and very fulfilling and one that i hope will include your practice. i have included my curriculum vitae and my plan of study for your consideration, and thank you for any help or suggestions you may offer me towards this journey. i look forward to hearing from you, and will follow up in a couple of weeks.
