I'm a registered nurse. I have been reading all the articles posted in newspapers and nursing journals about the nursing shortage. According to the stats here in my state, there isn't a shortage of nurses but a shortage of people who are nurses wanting to work as nurses. Over the years I have heard stories about preceptors sabotaging their new nurses. Older nurses changing around IV lines while a nurse is on break. All the nurses I trust most in the world have always told me to "CYA", not from doctors or administration, but from other nurses. I've decided to try and write a book about short stories, partly bases on facts and partly fictional. I would really like to hear some of your stories about your treatment by other nurses. Yes, both good and bad. You can choose to tell me your name, or use any name you wish. I would like to know your education and any specialty you work in. Credit will be given to anyone that shares.
I'm not a bitter nurse, but a nurse that thinks a story needs to be told. Support in the workforce is so important, maybe if we talk about it things will get better.
Thank you
