Looking for a psych RN job somewhere warm with high function/low violent patients.

Published

Hello!

I'm looking to move somewhere warm. The only thing I feel is holding me back, is that I have pretty much the perfect Psych RN job here. I work in a hospital that has 3 inpatient adult psych units. I get to work on the unit with the highest functioning/low violent pt's. Usually 5 pt's per nurse. I've worked inpatient psych for 9 years. I don't have to run any groups. Basically it's passing med's, doing a daily assessment for SI and then discharges/admissions.

So my question is....Do you know of a Psych RN job somewhere warm, where I would be working with high functioning/low violent pt's? Also somewhere that has a friendly/easy going manager? If you know of such a job, can you tell me what state, average pay and some details of your daily routine? Also nurse to pt ratio? I would sooo appreciate it! I would like to move before it gets cold here again! :)

Thank you!!!

That would be tough to leave a perfect job but I do understand about wanting warm weather. Arizona may be too warm for your tastes but I had great luck in finding a job at a psych facility. Our ratio is 10:1 .

Try Rock Springs Hospital in Georgetown, TX. Amazing management, very warm, no mechanical restraints (we use CPI), 3 units (detox, mental health, and adolescent mental health).
