Looking for online chem 101 support

Published

Hey all!

It's been a while since I've posted, been trying to crack down and focus on my school work. I am in two of my last 3 co reqs before applying (planning next spring) for nursing school.

I have been going 1 or 2 classes at a time, with one retake (anatomy 101, got a C my first time ever through) but I have been going nonstop since the summer I started I THINK in 2016 but I dont remember ANYWAY

I am feeling so burnt out, so discouraged and just DONE right now. I almost feel cheated because I havent been able to take any traditional classes, everything has been online. 4 times now I have thought about just finishing anatomy and physiology 102 and trying to be a CMA because I am just THAT done. The website we use for chem has been malfunctioning for 2 days now so I cant finish my assignments which isnt helping anything but I guess I just needed a place to vent. I am devoting SO much time to chemistry I am hardly doing ANYTHING else. Even anatomy which I thoroughly enjoy is falling by the wayside just to keep up in chemistry. Please tell me it will get better. I started the pre reqs for ASN because THATS what I wanted to do but at this point I am just so done I almost will do whatever will apply with the classes I have gotten done. Thanks for listening if you made it this far.

You're burning yourself out because if you are taking 2 core sciences together (anatomy/chemistry or physiology/micro, etc..), it's lot of information to take in and study. It might be too late, but if it's possible I'd recommend taking each core science class by itself. Based on the grade you got of a "C" in anatomy, you aren't retaining the information you need. You are probably spreading yourself too thin.

People go at different speeds when they take classes. Some people can take 2 science classes and not sweat it. Chemistry is the class which breaks most people. It's a tough subject and you need to devote a lot of time to it. I would almost just take chemistry by itself so you can just focus on that.

Don't lose hope you can get there. You just may need to take more time and add it to your plan so you can come out with an "A" instead of a "C." Nursing schools are competitive, remember that!

Thank you. I kind of forgot they are both sciences lol so far I DO have a C in chem but i thought I could get it to a B by the time the semester ended. I ended up with these two sciences because I THOUGHT I was going to be applying for nursing in the Fall, planned on taking advanced physiology in the summer (SO glad I dont have that to deal with now) but even if I do drop one of my classes now (I'm not sure when the deadline is) I WOULD end up with one summer class anyway. I think I just need to figure out how to make this work and quit bellyaching. I keep telling myself nursing classes will be so much harder so I need to figure this out, but it is A LOT. But I am thankful that so far anatomy/physiology 102 is a lot easier than 101 was. It just sucks it's not getting more of my attention.
