When I was in nursing school, I applied for a job as a nurses aide at a local hospital. It was one where I wanted to work after I graduated. When I started working there as a RN, my time as an aide counted toward my seniority. I started out with more vacation time than my classmates working at the same hospital and also worked less holidays my first year. You may want to look into that option.

Hello. I have not been on here in such a long time. School is finally out and taking the summer off. But I have a dilema....
I am still in school (as stated above) which I have not yet completed my general nursing classes. I would LOVE to get a job as a receptionist in a hospital or even a doctor's office. I am currently employed but it's not even related to my schooling and I hate it so much. I am a loan servicing specialist for Sallie Mae. If I was a finance major, I may like it more, but it's not for me. Although, I do not compromise my stats and work hard to meet the department and team goals. My supervisor is thrilled with my success as I have been there for only 90-days.
Anyway, I was wondering what can or should I do to even get my resume looked at by a hospital or office? My school offers a certificate program for Medical Office Specialist which I plan to start in the Fall, as well as finish my general Nursing classes. I would attend classes full-time this summer, like I have for the past few semesters, but all the classes that I need to complete in the general nursing and the certificate program are not offered for summer only for Fall and Spring semesters.
I am excited to hear from you soon!
