looking for lpn program around okc area

Published

hi

I am wanting to start a lpn program at the first of the year or this spring. If anyone knows a good school here I would like some input. Also which one is the easiest to get into to.

Specializes in Med_Surg, Renal, intermediate care.

I go to Metro Tech, but they only start in the August.

I know Mid- Del technology center take students 4 times a year into their PN program. Also, try Francis Tuttle. Platt College is easy to get into, but they are not NLN accredited and it is way too expensive.

Thanks that is helpful info. I did not know that platt wasn't nln accredited. I had called them and they didn't say that. How are the classes at metrotech? Is it nice classes do they explain everything well? Was it hard to get in there? I am going to call mid del next and see when they start. Francis tuttle is full and they don't start until August either. Well thanks again.

I really like my classes at Metro Tech, but you have to have good note taking skills because sometimes lecture goes a little fast. However, they will explain stuff to you in easy way so that you can understand it better. It's alot of work like 2-3 test a week. The only thing that I don't like is that Metro Tech is so strict with the rules!!!! But from my understanding all OK vo-tech are like that

Thanks alot for responding. Do you know if I went for lpn there, would I be able to then get a Rn through another school or do you have to stay at whatever metrotech you attend to get it? Good luck to you.

One year of an LPN-program at an NLN accredited school is the same thing as the first year of an RN program. So once you are licensed you should be able to test out of your first year of a RN program. However, there is a such thing as 1+1 program at Metro Tech and Francis Tuttle. You do the LPN program and you are gauranteed a spot in a Rn program at OKCC or OSU-OKC. You have to call them for all the details, because I don't know too much about it.
