I need help getting back into full time work. I took 3 years off of full time duty as my daughter has epilepsy and was having many grand mal seizures. Thank God, now she has found a medication regime to stabilize her epilepsy and she is doing great at school and driving. I have been doing substitute school nursing to make a few dollars, but I desperately need to generate a full time salary as we are dealing with college tuitions. Before I took time off for my daughter, I was doing 7 PM to 7 AM in a medical intensive care unit. My past jobs have included coronary care units and visiting nursing. I have kept my CPR up to date, but my ACLS expired as I did not have the money for the course.
With my life now, I need full time work which would revolve around 6-7AM to 2-3 PM with weekends and holidays off as I do not have as much flexibility with the demands of my house.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you,
Ginny:confused:

I'm not sure where your are located gsr1306 but I would suggest working agency and home health. Not many permanent employers are going to want to hire someone that has no flexibility and can't work weekends:no:. If you do agency and home health you can dictate your own schedule. Also school nursing would be ideal for you; try the local school systems.

You might try teaching LPN classes at a technical school. I couldn't tell from your post if you were an RN or not. I am an LPN and the school that I went to required you to be an RN with five years med-surg experience or BSN with 2-3 years experience, I think. We had instructors who were there because they needed the hours it offered. 8-3 for classes, 7-3 for clinicals.
