Agency nursing
Does anyone do agency nursing? I just started and was called in for about 2 weeks and now I have been getting cancelled everyday. I did receive a reply to connect to several agencies, but I don't want to overbook. Do you alternate days with different agencies in order to generate a decent income from this type of nursing?

New Agency Nurse
Thanks for the quick response. If I sign up for different agencies - I am a little unsure how that works. If I get cancelled do I just call the other agency? I don't want to overbook and then let a place down. Do you just alternate days so you bank on getting some time from different agencies? Thanks for all of your advice!

New Agency Nurse
I just signed up for an agency and I was working right near my home for about 2 weeks. Now, I have been getting cancelled everyday from the hospital that the agency has contracted with - so I am needless to say bummed out as I thought I could generate time with this job situation. Has anyone worked at agencies? This is my first experience at working for a nursing agency. I really don't want to go through everyday getting cancelled. Any suggestions???

Nursing agencies
I am looking into working for a nursing agency as I need flexibility with my life and I am concerned about committing full time to a hospital again. There are so many nursing agencies - does anyone know how to generate a list of nursing agencies and also information on their pay rates in the area that you live. I live near Philadelphia, PA and I have found agencies, such as, Favorite Nursing, RCM Healthcare. How can I find the pay rates and also nursing agencies in my area? Thanks - Ginny:typing

Looking for a job
I need help getting back into full time work. I took 3 years off of full time duty as my daughter has epilepsy and was having many grand mal seizures. Thank God, now she has found a medication regime to stabilize her epilepsy and she is doing great at school and driving. I have been doing substitute school nursing to make a few dollars, but I desperately need to generate a full time salary as we are dealing with college tuitions. Before I took time off for my daughter, I was doing 7 PM to 7 AM in a medical intensive care unit. My past jobs have included coronary care units and visiting nursing. I have kept my CPR up to date, but my ACLS expired as I did not have the money for the course. With my life now, I need full time work which would revolve around 6-7AM to 2-3 PM with weekends and holidays off as I do not have as much flexibility with the demands of my house. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you, Ginny:confused:
