Looking information: Virginia Commonwealth University's CRNA program

Published

Hi everyone!

I have been browsing this site for awhile now and I have just taken the plunge to join and participate. I am currently in the process of putting all the pieces together for my application this fall to VCU's CRNA program. I am finishing up my BSN this fall and have been an ER nurse for several years and I am currently working in ICU (since January).

I am looking for anyone who is currently a student or recent graduate of VCU. I am curious to know what the class schedule was like, clinical experiences, and how the instructors were to work with. How was the interview? Any tidbits will help.

So far, I have yet to take the GRE (will take that next month:uhoh21: ). My diploma RN GPA was >3.5 and currently I hold a 4.0 at VCU. I plan on taking o-chem this fall. I have shadowed a CRNA in the past and have met with the staff at VCU and have taken a tour. The downside is that other than my required sciences courses for school, all I have is one semester each of chemistry and biology, microbiology,& A&P. Is that enough for VCU (with o-chem)? I know these are alot of questions, but I am full of them!!!

I am just wondering if VCU will :chuckle at my application!! What can I do to "beef" up my application? Thank you for any help in advance!!!!

P.S. I am also open to any other information from current students at other schools too!!!
