looking for info about Florida Hospital in Altamonte springs, fl

Has anyone worked for this hospital? I am a traveler looking at an assigment on their oncology floor. one thing that i dont know if i like is poss of getting floated to thier sister hospital in apako, florida..4 miles away...only two floors med and surg. ratio 1:6 or 1:5 on the oncology floor.. ? ratio on the other hospital... any feedbacks would be helpful...thanks

I dont know much about ths group of hospitals other that being affiliated with the Seven Day Adventist Church. As a new traveler my self and the reserch I did prior Idid find it was possible to get no float clauses in your contracts. Being an ER nurse I didnt find it to be an issue. I personally wouldnt be comfortable floating between different hospitals even thought the are "sister hospitals".

I did not know about the no floating clause but i wil certainly bring that up with my recruiter. I dont mind floating in house but floating to a diff hospital does put a little damper on it. have you met any other travelers that has worked there? its usually nice to get feedback from other nurses too and then kindof base accepting assingments on that... thaks for the info

Do you mean Apopka, maybe? The entire Florida Hospital system is 7th day Adventist. My ex colleague works at Florida Hospital Deland. It was an adjustment from the north, that's for sure.

What did your collegue think of the hospital? did they like the system. what about the pt:nurse ratio?

She works L&D where the ratio is 1:1 for the most part. I don't know about the rest of the hospital.
