Looking For Some Cover Letter & Résumé Tips

Published

I just found out that the family birth center I'd love to get hired at is going to hiring 3-4 LPNs, they're eliminating the HUC positions and replacing them with LPNs. The surg techs were already replaced by LPNs. Anyways my goal has always been to work in L&D or NICU, and want of these open positions so bad!! I've applied to this hospital on the past and have never even gotten an interview.

I'm looking for any tips, pointers, suggestions for my cover letter and résumé. I want it to really stand out amongst the others and not get lost or weeded out by the HR's résumé wizard program.. I've been a LPN for almost 14 years, unfortunately all my experience has been in LTC, not by choice but because there was never an opportunity for me to work else where.. :-( Before graduating I worked as a CNA in acute care--Ortho/Neuro. I'm a fast learner, work well in a fast paced environment and handle stressful situations without a problem. I like the technical aspect of nursing. I'm pro baby friendly and love being a patient advocate. I am just as perfect for this job as this job is perfect for me! How do I put that on my cover letter and résumé?
