Hi,
When I was in Alice Springs for 10 months my boyfriend and I bought the most beautiful burle bowl and brought it back to the US with us. Well, when he went to England he took it with him and I would really like to get another one. Does anyone know where I could purchase another one? We purchased it from a craftsman in the Todd Mall who was moving to Adelaide, so that was no help to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I would love to help but what in hell's name is a burle bowl?!!
The craftsman had taken a piece of wood, and I believe it was from a gum tree, and polished it and put some type of sealant on it. With its natural bark, knot holes and rings showing it sat on a stand on the coffee table and was beautiful. He also had larger pieces that he made into tables and such, or smaller pieces for smaller bowls. They aren't bowls you eat of.

You can actually find those at some of the art fairs in the US, where they have artisans showing their wares. When I lived in Michigan, you used to see them at all of the fairs, such as Ann Arbor and Birmingham.
Check out some of the fairs in your area.

Probably not as good as the Aussie one's though!
