Hi, I'm moving to DC very soon and I'm looking for apartments in Maryland, near DC area. I can only afford up to $1000 and I need a 2 bed place. Anyone got any suggestions???

Hello,
Many people use a site on the internet called "craigslist" to look for apartments and houses for rent. It is a good site and often has pictures. I think the site is craigslist.org and then you click on the state you want. I used it when looking to move last year and it was helpful for estimating rent in the area. Best of luck.

I second craigslist.
The problem is that the suburbs that are right next to the city and are in nice neighborhoods...the rent is SO high.
I grew up near Hyattsville and I know of this place. It's not the world's greatest but it's in your price range.

Your neighbors will be a mix of UMD students, a wide range of ethnicities, and families. The place isn;t HORRID- don't get me wrong....but compared to apartments in nicer areas it doesn't live up. It's convienent that's for sure though- there are a TON of ways to get into DC from here.
Good luck!
