Looding for advice...LPN to RN

Published

Hi! I'm a recent PN graduate, yet to take my boards (still waiting on ATT); however I've been working as a GPN for about 2 months at a local hospital. I have 5-7 patients daily on a Med/Surg unit and have been doing well and feeling very comfortable. I always knew I wanted to go further with my education, but since actually working, I'd like to do it sooner than later. The pay would be much more and the responsibilites aren't that much more. I'm looking for advice from anyone who is thinking about or currently in a LPN to RN program. I feel I would be better suited for online rather than classroom just because of family, work, etc. The online programs I've seen are QUITE expensive. Financial aid, scholarships, true grants, definite loans, etc. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Pros and cons of online vs. classroom. Any success stories. Any programs I may not have found (have talked with College Network & got pricing, received info from RUE Education, however no pricing info.):uhoh3:. ETC.... Thanks to everyone for your input.

Even after years of school...who knew I couldn't spell looking! Obviously, the post title should be Looking for advice...LPN to RN

The College Network is not a distance nursing program, so beware. The College Network is an expensive publishing company that sells textbooks and study materials to go along with Excelsior College's modules. The distance program at Excelsior College can be completed without the expense of the College Network.

RUE Education is not a distance nursing program, so beware. RUE is another expensive publishing company that sells textbooks and study materials to go along with Excelsior College's modules. The distance program at Excelsior College can be completed without the expense of RUE Education.

Some accredited distance nursing programs include Excelsior College, Indiana State University, Deaconness College, and a few others.
