Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hi, Everyone! It has been a while. I have a little issue I have been going over and over with and I just wanted to get some other peoples input on it.

I left a nursing program before I got started in Florida because I had to move back to SC, thanks recession! I had to essentially start from scratch somewhat at a new school. At TCL in Beaufort, SC they use the TEAS in helping determine who gets in. They only take 40 people twice a year and there is no waitlist you just have to keep applying. I took the TEAS and made a very good score, well above the required score. I thought I would take it again, but the advisor told me that they average it if you take it twice. SO if I got lower, I'd be in trouble. Everyone keeps saying my score is great (administrators...not advisor she keeps her opinions to herself and tells you that you have to make your own decision).

What would you guys do? The deadline is October 15th, I have turned in my application but I do have one more shot.

Oh FYI, I have taken things they do w/in the program. So all I have is clinicals while others have the entire program to finish. In Florida I completed (and more that wasnt transferred) A&P I and II, Micro, Psych, English I and II, and Pre Algebra. However they have no GPA to go by because when they transfer credits they dont give you your actual grade, just the credit. I am in the first teir for the local area they pick from. It is our tri county area, then statewide, then out of state. I believe those are their only three criteria. They don't even interview.

TIA

i can not figure out how to email you.. strange, but benya, PLEASE email me.. put in the subject like NURSING SCHOOL in caps lol.

Hey J. I just saw this message sorry! I haven't been on here much....end of semester and all. so what questions do you have about TCL? I will try to answer them as best I can.

email me at [email protected]

i am here now, applied to the college,a dn told they cant transfer my nursing classes.. im confused though because they have a 12 mth rule... so that i had to take my nursing classes within 12 months to be considered a transfer student. and well, my last nursing class ended in august.. if i started in august, id meet that deadline.. right?? and another thing is i took a pharmacology class which ended in december. the shcool i went to didnt require that for the nursing program, but i knew another college most likely would... so if they considered that class, then i would only be 6 months without takign a nursing class...

how is the college so far? what is the schedule like and teachers? is it a lot of self study or do you get to actually hear a lesson in the classroom? that is the problem i had at my old school.. it was a LOT of self study then when we tested, so many people would fail. didnt matter how hard you studied, some of those questions were bogus. even people passing the class complained.

well im hoping to start in january. i filled out my application now i have to just wait it out :/ i just want to get started so i can be done already. it is verys tressful when you want something so bad and theres all these obstacles standing in the way!
