Hi y'all ??
Are you interested in/planning on applying to Lone Star's RN/ADN 2024 Fall program? Then this thread is for you! ?
I've been to the LVN program at the Montgomery campus but failed out the program after a few semesters but I'm back and ready to try again! So yeah I'm somewhat familiar with the application process. However, I still have so many questions on the application process and what to expect from the RN program now that I'm starting nursing school again after a few years.
I know many of you are concerned about what scores you need to get in and whether you'll get into your campus of choice. My top pick is the Montgomery campus. What about you?
I'm not sure what my application score is yet since I have to retake my HESI (it's been 2 years) but I've got an A in both English and AP II.
Come join the chat if you're interested! Looking forward to hearing from y'all.

Also, thank you @NurseBriselle for the date info! I actually just went back and saw you were accepted to Cyfair, that was the only campus I applied to, I had NO idea how competitive it was...
Now we wait! Really hoping that all your background clearance goes well, stay positive, I heard from some of my Austin friends that their clearance went quicker than expected.
Trust me sister, I feel and understand what you're saying way too well. I'm so sick of the life curveballs already. Trust me you'll get in. It's actually taken 2 years to get to this point after paying out of pocket and retaking courses as well. And now that I got my first acceptance it's still a major question mark. Yes, I've received the email to make the appt, and I've completed it.
@Katherine Inzunza you should check your private email for the fingerprint email bits not going to come from TBON but from Identogo. I got mine about 04/30/24

@kikisplan, thank you for this info! Are you accepted to the program or also alternate?

I haven't received an email for fingerprints from LSC; I am assuming because I am an alternate😅. They emailed us saying it can take weeks, but not sure if it was submitted at the same time as those who were accepted. I do, however, have my blue card from applying to a program in Austin. They told me that I could use that same clearance card since it is less than a month old. I received my blue card 1.5 weeks after going in for fingerprints 😃
Were the accepted folks told where to submit their blue card already?
So Identogo will send you an email to pay and go get your fingerprints done. Depending on your background (and they run an extensive one) you will either get a blue card in the mail which means you are good to go. Or they will send you a letter stating they are doing more digging on your background and it will take longer. Or depending on your background you could get denied. The blue card will get mailed to you once the background check checks out.

@NurseBriselle, did you receive your email for fingerprints already? I only received the email telling us that it can take a few weeks to get the fingerprint email, not an actual email from TBON. 😐
I have a B in Engl 1301 from 10 years ago, which dropped me considerably to a 7.3😥. I applied pretty last minute due to a need to move to Houston. I was initially applying to Austin programs, which none required ENGL as a pre-rq, so I feel so bummed and truly dislike that I would have to retake and pay again for it.
